This policy explains how Life Made Lighter Group Pty Ltd (ABN 30 700 182 903), referred to as Life Made Lighter, we, us or our, collects, uses, stores and shares personal information. Trust is the foundation of everything we do, and that includes how we treat what you share with us.

We only collect what we need to respond to you and to deliver safe, quality support. Depending on how you deal with us, this can include the following.

- Information from care professionals who refer you or arrange services on your behalf
- Health information, where it is needed to plan and deliver your care safely
Health information is sensitive information. We collect it only with your consent, and we handle it with additional care.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you contact us by email or phone, or when you use the enquiry and booking forms on this website. Those forms open an email in your own email app. This website itself does not store the details you type into them. We may also collect information from your family or representatives with your permission, and from professionals who refer you to us.
Why we use it
We use personal information to respond to your enquiries, to plan and deliver supports, to match you with the right support workers, to keep the people you nominate informed, to improve our services, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to your care without asking you first.
Storage and security
We keep personal information in our own systems, with access limited to the people who need it to support you. We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. When information is no longer needed and we are not required to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
When we share information
We never sell personal information. We share it only in limited circumstances.
- With the people directly involved in delivering your supports
- With family members or representatives you have asked us to keep informed
- With care professionals or partner organisations involved in your care, and only to the extent needed

Use of AI tools
We use artificial intelligence tools to help us manage business correspondence, including email, calendar entries and business documents. These tools may read, summarise, classify and help draft correspondence on our behalf. Personal information contained in correspondence, such as your name, contact details and the reason for your contact, may be processed by these tools.
Some of the AI tools we use are provided by companies located outside Australia, including in the United States. This means personal information contained in correspondence may be transferred to and processed in those countries. We take reasonable steps to ensure the providers we use handle personal information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Care records, including care plans, assessments and progress notes, are held in our care management system hosted in Australia and are not made available to AI tools located outside Australia.
All correspondence handled with the assistance of AI tools is reviewed by a member of our team before any response is sent.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you at any time, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details below and we will respond the same business day. There is no charge for making a request.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a concern about how we have handled your information, please tell us. We take every concern seriously and there are never negative consequences for raising one. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
